Julia Strong recently joined us as one of the new Trustees on our Board. Here is what Julia said about why she wanted to become involved
‘I am a non-profit fundraising professional with ten years’ experience in the charitable sector. I have experience managing philanthropic partnerships with trusts and foundations, companies, and major donors and have managed fundraising events in venues including the Royal Albert Hall in London and the Alliance Francais in Nairobi. In 2011 I spent a year working in Kenya as a fundraising advisor for the Kenya Hospice and Palliative Care Association through a Voluntary Service Overseas volunteer placement. I have been committed to supporting healthcare in developing countries ever since. I currently work for the international charity Sightsavers and am studying for an MSc in International Development.’
