Stella from our partner ONPACC in Kajiado County talks about the challenges of reaching isolated communities with Covid-19 information and support:
“We are still visiting patients at home with the help of community health volunteers who are doing good work, but we have a lot of challenges.
Educating the community is a challenge. People say there is no Covid-19 in their villages so many do not wear masks. Running water is another challenge for regular hand washing.
We are visiting patients to bring food supplies and advocating the importance of wearing masks, keeping socially distanced and washing hands. We are doing our best despite the challenges.”
